Target intelligence / Profile preview
Apolipoprotein E2 (ApoE2) is one of three major isoforms of apolipoprotein E, a protein involved in lipid metabolism and transport. ApoE2 exhibits reduced binding affinity for the LDL receptor compared to other isoforms, affecting lipoprotein clearance and influencing the risk of Alzheimer's disease and type III hyperlipoproteinemia.
Modulates lipid transport and clearance by binding to lipoprotein receptors and heparan sulfate proteoglycans.
