Target intelligence / Profile preview
Arabinosyl transferase III (EmbB) is a membrane-bound glycosyltransferase enzyme in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, critical for polymerizing arabinose into arabinogalactan, an essential cell wall component. It is a primary target for ethambutol, a first-line anti-tuberculosis drug. Mutations in embB, particularly near codon 306, are associated with ethambutol resistance.
