ARAF pseudogene 3 (ARAFP3) is a processed pseudogene related to the ARAF gene, which encodes a member of the Raf kinase family involved in the MAPK signaling pathway[1][5][7]. ARAFP3 itself does not encode a protein and is classified as a non-functional genetic element. While pseudogenes were once regarded as "junk DNA," emerging evidence suggests some can regulate gene expression at the RNA level through mechanisms such as acting as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) that can modulate microRNA availability and, consequently, the expression of their parental or related genes[2][3][6]. However, there are no studies or data currently demonstrating that ARAFP3 is expressed or functions as a regulatory ceRNA or biomarker. It is not a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter, and there are no known drugs, safety concerns, or diagnostic/prognostic uses specifically attributed to ARAFP3[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][9]. There is nothing incorrect about the existence of ARAFP3 as a pseudogene, but it does not meet criteria for a molecular target or receptor. If "ARAFP3" was intended as a druggable receptor or enzyme, this would be a misunderstanding of current biological classification.
