Overview

Arenavirus antigens are the structural and non-structural proteins encoded by viruses in the Arenaviridae family, which include significant human pathogens such as Lassa virus (LASV) and Junin virus (JUNV) (Source: UniProt). The primary antigenic targets for therapeutic intervention are the glycoprotein complex (GPC), responsible for viral attachment and entry, and the nucleoprotein (NP), which is the most abundant viral protein and a major target for the host immune response (Source: PubMed).
