Target intelligence / Profile preview
Arginine-fifty homeobox pseudogene 1 (ARGFXP1) is a human pseudogene. Pseudogenes are generally non-coding sequences that arise as copies of functional genes but accumulate mutations that prevent protein expression. While historically considered non-functional, some pseudogenes can regulate their parent genes through mechanisms such as acting as miRNA decoys or producing regulatory RNAs. There is no evidence in the scientific literature that ARGFXP1 itself is transcribed, functional, or has disease relevance or biomarker utility. No therapeutics are known to interact with ARGFXP1, and it is not considered a classical drug target.
