Arginine Vasopressin Receptor 1A (V1a)

Target
V1a
Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor, GPCR, Receptor

Overview

Arginine Vasopressin Receptor 1A (AVPR1A), also known as V1a, is a G-protein coupled receptor that binds to arginine vasopressin. It is widely expressed in the central nervous system and peripheral tissues and plays a crucial role in regulating blood pressure, social behavior, stress response, and cellular functions. Genetic variations in AVPR1A have been associated with autism spectrum disorders, substance abuse vulnerability, and stress vulnerability.
