ARGLU1 divergent transcript (ARGLU1-DT) is a long intergenic non-protein coding RNA (lncRNA) arising from the region near the ARGLU1 gene. It is known by several aliases, including LINC00443 and LINC00551. ARGLU1-DT belongs to the lncRNA class and is implicated in the regulation of gene expression, particularly through modulating pre-mRNA splicing events in partnership with the ARGLU1 protein. Functional studies suggest that the transcript is involved in controlling the localization and phase separation of the ARGLU1 protein at nuclear speckles, which may influence gene regulatory mechanisms, especially alternative splicing[1]. There are limited disease associations, with some data suggesting a role in certain cancers such as esophageal cancer[3], though its direct involvement and mechanisms remain unclear.
