Overview

ARHGAP11B-DT, or ARHGAP11B divergent transcript, is an RNA gene transcribed from the opposite DNA strand adjacent to the *ARHGAP11B* locus. These types of "divergent transcripts" are usually non-coding RNAs and are commonly observed at loci of protein-coding genes, but their function, if any, is rarely well-characterized. There is substantial literature and functional data available for the *ARHGAP11B* protein-coding gene, which is important in human neocortex expansion and progenitor cell amplification. In contrast, there is no evidence that the divergent transcript, ARHGAP11B-DT, encodes a protein or has a known role in therapeutic targeting, disease, or drug interaction—nor is it established as a molecular reagent or clinical biomarker. This is not a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or typical drug target. The term "ARHGAP11B divergent transcript" or "ARHGAP11B-DT" does not refer to a canonical molecular target for drugs, nor is it a recognized participant in therapeutic pathways. If the intention was to refer to the protein-coding gene involved in neocortical expansion, the correct target would be "Rho GTPase-activating protein 11B" (ARHGAP11B), not the divergent transcript.

Mechanism of action

Not applicable (There are no known therapeutically relevant mechanisms for ARHGAP11B-DT.)

03

Biological functions

Other (As a divergent, likely non-coding transcript, no well-defined protein-related biological function is established.)
04

Disease associations

Other (There is no evidence in the scientific literature that ARHGAP11B-DT plays a direct role in disease. Most functional and disease-related studies focus on the protein-coding ARHGAP11B gene.)
