Overview

ARIH2 opposite strand long non-coding RNA (ARIH2OS) is a transcript identified as a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) from the region opposite the ARIH2 gene on human chromosome 3, and is also known by synonyms including C3orf71 and Ariadne-2 homolog opposite strand protein. Long non-coding RNAs are RNA molecules longer than 200 nucleotides which are not translated into protein and are generally involved in the regulation of gene expression, chromatin modification, transcriptional control, or post-transcriptional modulation[1][5]. While lncRNAs have been increasingly recognized for their regulatory capacity, specific biological functions of ARIH2OS itself remain uncharacterized, and no evidence supports its role as a conventional therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or direct drug target. There are also no documented drugs, biomarkers, or disease mechanistic associations uniquely attributed to ARIH2OS in current scientific literature. However, its classification as a lncRNA means it may participate in regulatory pathways or disease mechanisms still to be elucidated.
