Armadillo repeat-containing X-linked protein 4 (ARMCX4)

Armadillo repeat-containing X-linked protein 4 (ARMCX4) is a member of the armadillo repeat-containing family of proteins, sharing structural similarity with scaffolding and adaptor proteins that regulate cellular processes such as intracellular trafficking and signal transduction[1][3][5]. Although its precise functions are not fully elucidated, ARMCX4 is thought to participate in the regulation of G protein–coupled receptor trafficking, post-endocytic sorting, and possibly other signaling processes via protein-protein interactions[1][3]. Research also implicates ARMCX4 in the differentiation of spermatogonial stem cells and in pathologies such as congenital myasthenic syndrome, cancer, glycosylation disorders, male infertility, and neonatal maxillofacial deformity[3][5]. ARMCX4 is not currently recognized as a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter, and there are no known drugs or established clinical biomarkers directly targeting this protein[1][5].
