Overview

ARMC2 antisense RNA 1 (ARMC2-AS1) is a human long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located on chromosome 6. It is classified as an antisense transcript, meaning it is transcribed from the DNA strand opposite to the protein-coding ARMC2 gene. ARMC2-AS1 is a member of the lncRNA family and its function remains largely uncharacterized; there is currently no evidence that it encodes a protein or that it acts as a direct therapeutic target. Some disease associations, notably with male infertility phenotypes such as teratozoospermia and spermatogenic failure 38, are reported, but the specific mechanism linking ARMC2-AS1 to these conditions is not established. There are no drugs, biomarkers, or safety concerns directly associated with this molecule.
