ARPC1A pseudogene 2 (ARPC1AP2) is a non-coding pseudogene, meaning it is a genomic sequence resembling the coding gene ARPC1A but lacks the capacity to produce a functional protein[1][2]. Pseudogenes are generally regarded as "non-functional" remnants of genes lost throughout evolution. However, accumulating evidence shows that some may regulate gene function via RNA-based mechanisms such as RNA interference or serving as microRNA decoys. There is no reported protein product, disease association, or drug interaction specific to ARPC1A pseudogene 2[1][2][3]. For the vast majority of pseudogenes, including ARPC1AP2, therapeutic targeting and biomarker roles are not established.
