Arylacetamide deacetylase-like 4 (AADACL4)

Target
AADACL4
Molecular classification
Enzyme, Hydrolase, Lipolytic enzyme family (GDXG lipolytic enzyme family), Single-pass type II membrane protein

Overview

Arylacetamide deacetylase-like 4 is a protein encoded by the *AADACL4* gene in humans. It belongs to the GDXG lipolytic enzyme family and functions as a hydrolase, hydrolyzing esters and amides. Structurally, AADACL4 is a single-pass type II membrane protein with domains including a signal-anchor and transmembrane helix, associated typically with membrane localization[1]. As with other members of the arylacetamide deacetylase family, the enzyme is predicted to participate in the metabolism of endogenous and xenobiotic lipid substrates, indicated by its homology. However, its specific substrates, physiological roles, or disease associations remain largely unstudied. No documented drug interactions nor validated biomarker roles have been described for this molecule, and it is not recognized as a therapeutic target in current literature[1][2].
