ASH2L pseudogene 2 is a non-protein-coding DNA sequence in the human genome that shares sequence similarity with ASH2L, a gene encoding a core component of the histone methyltransferase complex involved in chromatin modification[1]. Pseudogenes such as ASH2LP2 typically arise from duplication or retrotransposition events, and although they may be transcribed in some cases, they do not produce a functional protein[1]. There is no documentation of ASH2LP2 having a physiological, pathological, or pharmacological role; it is not a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or established therapeutic target[1].
