Asparagine synthetase domain-containing protein 1 (ASNSD1; also known as NS3TP1 or HCV NS3-transactivated protein 1) is a human protein encoded by the ASNSD1 gene. It is predicted to contain a domain similar to asparagine synthetase (the enzyme that catalyzes asparagine biosynthesis), but its enzymatic activity in human systems remains unconfirmed. The gene is expressed in various tissues, and extensive datasets associate it with functional or expression data, but there is no clear evidence that it functions as a receptor, transporter, enzyme, or classical therapeutic target. Alternative names include NBLA00058 and FLJ20752. Its precise biological role, if any, is currently not well characterized and it is not a recognized therapeutic target in the literature.
