Aspartate dehydrogenase domain-containing protein (ASPDH)

Target
ASPDH
Molecular classification

Overview

Aspartate dehydrogenase domain-containing protein (ASPDH) is an enzyme that catalyzes the NAD(P)-dependent dehydrogenation of L-aspartate to iminoaspartate, acting as an oxidoreductase[1][7]. The protein is involved in coenzyme biosynthesis, particularly NAD and NADP, and metabolic processes related to amino acid and pyridine nucleotide biosynthetic pathways[1][5]. ASPDH is not currently recognized as a therapeutic target or drug target, nor is it part of any major drug-targeted disease pathways in the published literature as of the latest available data. Its gene is located on human chromosome 19q13.33 and is predicted to have aspartate dehydrogenase activity, although some functional characterizations have been made primarily in bacterial systems[1][3][5]. There are no well-established clinical biomarkers, drugs, or known safety considerations linked to this protein in humans.
