These antigens are fundamental to the fungus's structural integrity and its ability to colonize and invade host tissues [3]. In a clinical context, they are primarily utilized as diagnostic biomarkers for invasive aspergillosis, where their detection in serum or bronchoalveolar lavage fluid indicates active infection [4]. Furthermore, these antigens are the causative agents of hypersensitivity in allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA), making them targets for immunodiagnostics and potential desensitization therapies [5]. While most current antifungal drugs, such as echinocandins, target the synthesis of these antigens rather than the molecules themselves, the antigens remain central to monitoring treatment response and developing novel immunotherapies [6].
