Overview

AT-rich interaction domain-containing protein 4A (ARID4A) is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear DNA-binding protein that modulates the activity of several transcription factors, notably the retinoblastoma protein (RB1) and androgen receptor. ARID4A acts as a transcriptional coregulator, playing a key role in transcriptional repression by recruiting histone deacetylases (HDACs) and mediating chromatin remodeling. It is involved in epigenetic regulation, spermatogenesis, hematopoiesis, and acts as a tumor suppressor in several contexts. Its dysfunction has been associated with various cancers, such as retinoblastoma and leukemia[1][3][4][5][6][7].
