Overview

AT-rich interaction domain-containing protein 4B (ARID4B) is a chromatin-modifying protein that is part of the Sin3A histone deacetylase corepressor complex, involved in the regulation of gene expression, epigenetic modification, and chromatin remodeling[3][5]. It binds DNA via its Tudor domain and participates in the recruitment and assembly of corepressor and coactivator complexes at specific genomic loci. ARID4B modulates various cellular processes, including the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and maintenance of the blood–testis barrier. It is implicated in cancer progression (especially as a potential oncogene or tumor suppressor depending on context), infertility, and hematologic disorders. The gene product has tissue-specific roles and is widely recognized as a biomarker and multifunctional regulator in both development and disease, but direct pharmacological targeting has not been reported[3][5].

Mechanism of action
