ATG10 intronic transcript 1 (ATG10-IT1) is a sense intronic noncoding RNA derived from the ATG10 gene on chromosome 5. It does not encode a protein and currently has no defined biological function, disease association, or role as a therapeutic target. This transcript is manually annotated and represented in the Ensembl and GENCODE databases as a noncoding RNA. Information on its regulation, expression, or involvement in disease is presently lacking. Important Context: If the intent was to inquire about ATG10 (protein-coding, autophagy-related E2-conjugating enzyme), this gene is distinct, encodes an enzyme essential for autophagy, and is implicated in disease and cellular processes. However, ATG10-IT1 refers specifically to the noncoding intronic transcript, not to the functional ATG10 protein.
