Overview

Atos homolog protein A (ATOSA) is a conserved transcription regulator found in mammals and other vertebrates, encoded by the human FAM214A gene (also known as KIAA1370, FLJ10980)[3][7]. It contains transactivation domains that may be required for transcriptional activation of specific target genes[1]. The protein is predicted to localize to the nucleus and regulate transcription and translation, particularly in coordination for macrophage tissue invasion[3][5][7][8][13]. In model organisms (e.g., Drosophila), its homolog is implicated in controlling cellular metabolism, but the precise molecular functions in humans and disease relevance remain insufficiently characterized[8]. There is some evidence of expression in cancer cell lines, but no established drug interactions, clinical biomarkers, or direct therapeutic targeting have been reported[9].
