The ATP-binding cassette sub-family A member 14 pseudogene (ABCA14P) is a non-protein-coding locus classified as a pseudogene within the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily. ABC transporter genes typically encode membrane proteins involved in ATP-dependent translocation of various substrates across membranes in living cells. However, ABCA14P lacks the functional coding sequence needed to produce a transporter protein and, therefore, does not contribute to any known biological process or disease state. As a pseudogene, it does not represent a valid drug target, and no functional protein or pharmacological interaction is associated with this gene. No functional ABC transporter arises from this locus. Its inclusion in molecular databases is for genomic annotation and evolutionary study rather than therapeutic relevance.
