ATP-binding cassette sub-family F member 3 (ABCF3) is a cytoplasmic protein in the ABC transporter superfamily, subfamily F, that functions primarily as an active ATPase, with dual nucleotide-binding domains. Unlike most ABC proteins, ABCF3 lacks transmembrane domains and does not function as a transporter. ABCF3 is involved in cell proliferation and regulates lipid-sensitive ATP hydrolysis, possibly contributing to antiviral resistance, proliferation, and other intracellular processes, particularly by interacting with other proteins such as OAS1B and members of the tumor protein D52 family[2][3][5].
Not applicable; no established drugs target ABCF3 directly. ABCF3's activity is regulated by lipids (sphingosine, sphingomyelin, platelet-activating factor), but not by amphiphilic drugs[2].
