ATP-binding cassette subfamily C member 10 (ABCC10), also known as multidrug resistance-associated protein 7 (MRP7), is a membrane-bound transporter protein that uses ATP hydrolysis to actively export a broad variety of substrates—including chemotherapeutic agents and endogenous conjugated steroids—across cellular membranes[1][2][4][5][6]. ABCC10 belongs to the MRP subfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters, which are notable for their roles in cellular detoxification and multidrug resistance[1][2][4]. Overexpression of ABCC10 confers resistance to several antineoplastic drugs (such as taxanes, vinca alkaloids, anthracyclines, camptothecins, nucleoside analogs, and epothilones), and it is implicated in poor treatment outcomes due to its ability to reduce intracellular drug accumulation, particularly in various cancers[2][4][6]. ABCC10 is also under investigation as a prognostic marker and a putative therapeutic target due to its central role in chemoresistance[2][6].
