As a pseudogene, it does not encode a functional protein and is not relevant as a direct therapeutic or pharmacological target. Most databases, including GeneCards and BioGPS, clearly note ATP5PBP3 as a "pseudogene" with no functional protein product and no established biological or disease role. There is no evidence that ATP5PBP3 is a therapeutic target, nor is there information on drugs, mechanism of action, biomarkers, or safety concerns relevant to it. ATP5PBP3 should not be confused with ATP5PB or ATP5F1, which refer to protein-coding genes for the functional ATP synthase subunit b and code for essential mitochondrial proteins involved in cellular energy generation.
