ATP11B-DT
Molecular classification
Long non-coding RNA, divergent transcript

Overview

ATP11B-DT is a divergent non-coding RNA transcript located near the ATP11B gene. Divergent transcripts, also called long upstream antisense transcripts (LUATs), are transcribed in the opposite direction from promoters of protein-coding genes and generally lack protein-coding potential[3][5][7]. These transcripts are typically expressed at low levels, are localized to chromatin, and may play a regulatory role in the expression of adjacent genes through mechanisms such as chromatin modification or transcriptional regulation, although this function has not been specifically described or experimentally validated for ATP11B-DT itself[7]. There is currently no evidence that ATP11B-DT acts as a therapeutic target, interacts with drugs, or serves as a biomarker or safety concern. The transcript is primarily listed in gene databases as a non-coding RNA[3][5]. Note: The functional data and molecular/disease associations in the literature pertain to ATP11B, which encodes a P-type ATPase flippase involved in lipid transport and implicated in cancer drug resistance and neural development[1][2]. However, ATP11B-DT refers specifically to the non-coding divergent transcript, which has not been described as a protein, druggable target, or disease marker in the available scientific literature.
