ATP5IF1 antisense RNA 1 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the opposite DNA strand of the ATP5IF1 gene locus. Unlike ATP5IF1 (a mitochondrial protein involved in ATP synthase regulation), ATP5IF1-AS1 does not encode a protein and has no documented biological function, role in signaling, disease relevance, or therapeutic targeting in current scientific databases and literature. Its existence is primarily inferred from genome annotation, with no direct evidence for a role in cell biology, disease, or therapy at this time. If a therapeutic or biological effect of ATP5IF1-AS1 is later established, this should be updated. At present, it is not considered a validated molecular target for drug discovery or biomarker applications. No incorrect spelling or overloading is present, but its utility as a target is not supported in current knowledge.
