As a non-coding RNA, it is not translated into protein and does not serve as a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor, ion channel, enzyme, or transporter. Currently, ATP6V1B1-AS1 lacks substantial functional characterization in the literature, with no direct evidence for involvement in disease, drug interactions, or established biomarker status[3][6][9]. Its biological function is presumed to be related to regulation of its sense gene (ATP6V1B1) by mechanisms common to antisense lncRNAs, such as transcriptional regulation, RNA interference, or chromatin remodeling; however, specific functions for this gene remain to be elucidated.
