ATP6V1F pseudogene 2 (ATP6V1FP2) is a human genomic locus classified as a pseudogene by the HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee[3][6]. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences that closely resemble genuine genes but contain defects (such as premature stop codons, frameshifts, or deletions) that prevent the production of a functional protein[2][4]. Most pseudogenes are considered non-functional “genomic relics,” but some may modulate gene expression at the RNA level, for example by acting as decoys for regulatory microRNAs[1][2]. There is no evidence that ATP6V1FP2 is involved in disease or targeted by drugs. It is not considered a therapeutic target due to its noncoding, nonfunctional nature.
