Unlike its protein-coding parental gene, ATP6V1E1P3 has sequence changes that prevent translation into a functional protein and is considered non-coding[1][5]. While some pseudogenes are known to be transcribed and may influence the expression of their parent genes or other regulatory pathways, there is currently no evidence that ATP6V1E1P3 produces a functional RNA or protein product, or that it serves as a therapeutic or diagnostic target in human disease[2][4].
