Target intelligence / Profile preview
Autologous bone marrow stem cells (ABMSCs) are a diverse population of progenitor cells, primarily including hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), derived from the patient's own bone marrow (NIH, 2023). The global cellular and tissue microenvironment, often referred to as the 'stem cell niche,' is the specialized anatomical location that regulates the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of these cells through complex biochemical and mechanical signals (PubMed, 2021). In clinical practice, ABMSCs are utilized for regenerative therapies and to restore hematopoiesis following high-dose chemotherapy. These cells function by homing to damaged tissues and releasing trophic factors that promote angiogenesis and reduce inflammation, or by differentiating into specific cell lineages (StatPearls, 2023). Pharmacological agents such as Filgrastim (G-CSF) and Plerixafor target the interaction between stem cells and their microenvironment to facilitate the mobilization of these cells into the bloodstream for therapeutic collection (FDA, 2022).
Mobilization of progenitor cells from the bone marrow niche into peripheral blood or direct tissue regeneration via paracrine signaling and cellular differentiation.
