The B-cell lymphoma idiotype antigen is a patient- and tumor-specific antigen defined by the unique variable region sequence of immunoglobulin expressed on the malignant B cell surface. This idiotype acts as a molecular fingerprint and therapeutic target, enabling highly personalized immunotherapies such as anti-idiotype antibodies and idiotype-based vaccines. Unlike conventional antigens shared among tumors, the idiotype is unique to each patient's B-cell malignancy. Cross-linking the idiotype can trigger direct apoptosis of lymphoma cells or drive targeted immune responses. Challenges include tumor escape through antigen mutation and the need for individualized therapeutic manufacturing.
