The B-cell receptor (BCR) recognizing Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) polysaccharide is a specialized membrane-bound immunoglobulin essential for the adaptive immune defense against invasive bacterial infections. This receptor specifically targets polyribosylribitol phosphate (PRP), which constitutes the outer capsule of the Hib bacterium and serves as a major virulence factor by inhibiting phagocytosis (CDC, 2022).
