B4GALT4 antisense RNA 1 (B4GALT4-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand of the B4GALT4 locus. In the B4GALT gene family, several members (including B4GALT4) are associated with single antisense lncRNA transcripts, which are predicted to regulate the expression of the corresponding coding gene through mechanisms such as transcriptional interference, RNA duplex formation, or epigenetic modification[1]. While there is extensive functional evidence for related lncRNAs (e.g., B4GALT1-AS1) influencing cancer biology, there are currently no published studies that directly elucidate the distinct biological or disease roles of B4GALT4-AS1. Its identification as an antisense lncRNA highlights its potential for modulating glycosyltransferase gene expression or contributing to regulatory networks relevant in development, disease, or oncogenesis[1].
