B7-H4 Protein (B7-H4)

Target
B7-H4
Molecular classification
B7 family protein, Type I transmembrane protein, Immunoregulatory protein
01

Overview

B7-H4 (VTCN1) is an immune checkpoint protein belonging to the B7 family. It is a type I transmembrane protein that acts as a co-inhibitory ligand for activated lymphocytes, suppressing T cell function by inhibiting proliferation, reducing cytokine production, and/or inducing apoptosis. B7-H4 is overexpressed in various cancers, contributing to tumor immune evasion and is considered a promising target for cancer immunotherapy. Its receptor on T cells is currently unknown.
