Overview
B7.1, also known as CD80, is a transmembrane glycoprotein that functions as a costimulatory ligand primarily involved in the regulation of T cell activation and immune responses. It is expressed on activated antigen-presenting cells and interacts with CD28 to provide a costimulatory signal and with CTLA-4 to provide a coinhibitory signal, thus regulating the balance between immune activation and tolerance.

Mechanism of action
