Target intelligence / Profile preview
Bacterial ribosomal protein L1 is essential for both proper assembly/functioning of prokaryotic ribosomes and regulation at post-transcriptional levels. Its dual role—as a core structural element facilitating tRNA movement during translation and as an autoregulatory factor controlling production—makes it vital for cellular homeostasis in bacteria. It is a large, primary RNA-binding protein that is an integral component of the 50S subunit of prokaryotic ribosomes. It plays essential roles in both the structure and function of the ribosome, as well as in regulating its own synthesis.
