Overview

The bacterial cell wall and cell membrane are fundamental structures that maintain the physical integrity and physiological function of bacterial cells. Conversely, polymyxins and lipopeptides like daptomycin target the membrane to cause rapid depolarization or leakage of essential ions (PubMed: PMCID PMC7405945, 2020).
