Bacterial cell wall biosynthesis enzymes are a collection of enzymes essential for the synthesis of peptidoglycan, a crucial component of the bacterial cell wall. These enzymes are involved in various steps, including the synthesis of peptidoglycan precursors in the cytoplasm (Mur enzymes), the polymerization and cross-linking of peptidoglycan chains (Penicillin-Binding Proteins, Transpeptidases), and the remodeling of the cell wall (Hydrolases).
