Target intelligence / Profile preview
Bacterial DNABII proteins are a family of DNA-binding proteins universally expressed by eubacteria. They play a critical role in bacterial chromosome organization and biofilm formation by stabilizing the extracellular DNA (eDNA) lattice. Targeting DNABII can disrupt biofilms and increase bacterial susceptibility to antibiotics.
Disruption of eDNA lattice in biofilms, destabilizing the biofilm matrix and increasing susceptibility to antibiotics and immune clearance.
