Target intelligence / Profile preview
BANF1 pseudogene 5 (BANF1P5) is a genomic pseudogene related to the barrier to autointegration nuclear assembly factor 1 (BANF1) gene. Unlike the protein-coding BANF1 gene, BANF1P5 does not encode a functional protein. It is present in the genome as a nonfunctional remnant and does not participate in normal cellular or disease processes. Therefore, it is not considered a therapeutic target.
