Basic transcription factor 3 pseudogene 16 (BTF3P16)

Basic transcription factor 3 pseudogene 16 (BTF3P16) is a pseudogene in the human genome (NCBI Gene ID: 643412, Ensembl: ENSG00000282978)[3][6]. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences resembling functional genes but are typically non-functional due to mutations, deletions, or the absence of regulatory elements. BTF3P16 is related by sequence similarity to the gene encoding basic transcription factor 3 (BTF3), a protein involved in transcription initiation and RNA polymerase II complex formation, but BTF3P16 does not encode a protein and has no known biological or therapeutic function[3].
