BCAT1 antisense RNA 1 (BCAT1-AS1) is presumed to be a long non-coding RNA transcribed antisense to the BCAT1 gene, but it is not a canonical drug target nor is its function well characterized in the major scientific or medical literature. Most research and clinical interest is in BCAT1, a cytosolic enzyme involved in branched-chain amino acid metabolism and implicated in several cancers and metabolic pathways[1][5][2][3][4]. BCAT1-AS1, as an antisense RNA, may potentially regulate BCAT1 gene expression, but significant functional roles, druggability, or clinical implications have not been established.
