Overview

BCLAF1 and THRAP3 family member 3 (abbreviated BCLAF3) is a human protein-coding gene that, based on current annotations, is predicted to act as a DNA-binding protein and transcriptional coregulator[3][5][6]. It is a member of the THRAP3/BCLAF1 protein family, which is characterized by DNA binding and involvement in transcriptional regulation. While homologous proteins in this family (THRAP3 and BCLAF1) are well-established in RNA splicing, DNA damage response, and cancer biology[1][2][4], detailed functional and disease-specific studies on BCLAF3 itself are limited. No drug interactions or biomarker uses are currently described for BCLAF3, and it is not presently considered a therapeutic target. The protein is 711 amino acids in length in the human genome[5].
