Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO)

Benzoyl peroxide is an organic peroxide compound primarily used as a topical medication for the treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris and, less commonly, rosacea. It acts as an antibacterial agent by generating free radicals that oxidize bacterial proteins and has mild keratolytic effects. It is available in various formulations including gels, creams, lotions, face washes, and soaps.
