Beta-1,3-galactosyltransferase 4 (B3GALT4)

Target
B3GALT4
Molecular classification
Enzyme
01

Overview

Beta-1,3-galactosyltransferase 4 is an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of glycosphingolipids, particularly gangliosides, and in the modification of GPI-anchors. It plays a role in cell proliferation and migration, and its overexpression has been linked to breast cancer progression. The enzyme is also implicated in regulating autophagy through the AKT/mTOR pathway.
