Beta-2-glycoprotein I (β₂GPI), also known as Apolipoprotein H (Apo-H), is a multifunctional plasma glycoprotein primarily recognized for its role in the immune system and coagulation pathways. It is the main autoantigen in antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), an autoimmune disorder characterized by thrombosis and pregnancy morbidity. β₂GPI regulates complement and coagulation, binds to negatively charged phospholipids, and modulates platelet aggregation. Anti-beta-2-glycoprotein I antibodies are used diagnostically for APS.
