Beta-amyloid (Aβ) peptide aggregation refers to the process by which Aβ peptides self-associate into ordered oligomers and fibrillar structures. These aggregates are the principal component of amyloid plaques found in the brains of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and their accumulation is a hallmark of this neurodegenerative disorder. Targeting this aggregation is a major therapeutic strategy under investigation for Alzheimer’s disease.
