Overview

Birch pollen proteins are a group of plant-derived proteins found in the pollen of birch trees (genus *Betula*). These proteins are significant as major and minor allergens responsible for triggering allergic reactions, particularly in spring. The most prominent and clinically relevant birch pollen protein is Bet v 1, but several other allergenic proteins have been identified. These allergens cross-react with similar proteins found in several plant species and foods.
