Overview
The blood circulation system (also known as the circulatory or cardiovascular system) consists of the heart, blood vessels (arteries, veins, capillaries), and blood. Its main function is to deliver oxygen and nutrients to tissues while removing carbon dioxide and other waste products. The system includes two major circuits: pulmonary circulation (through the lungs for gas exchange) and systemic circulation (to all body tissues).
